“This group exhibition” in Sursock’s Twin Galleries, “brings together recent work by artists, designers, and researchers concerned with mapping and exploring contemporary Beirut. Here, the city is at once a product of desire and fantasy, and a lived and embodied space.” This excerpt from the exhibition’s concept note proposes a reading of the city as being both container and contained. This duality is expressed by the typographic signature designed for the exhibition, and emphasized by the symmetrical spatial configuration of the Twin Galleries themselves.
