City Hill
Downtown living – Beirut, Lebanon

  • Identity And Communication

The marketing brochure for this building follows a system of multiple representations that was first adopted for Insula, a previous residential project by Chekerdjian Estates. The visual language adds an illustrator’s input to images that are otherwise typically architectural. An illustration of the building by Mazen Kerbaj, based on a 3D rendering, was incorporated into the design to provide a more vivid and life-infused authored take on the project without having to resort to the nondescript lifestyle representations that are so commonplace in the catalog of images associated with real estate enterprises. As the visual codes of luxury residences float in a (main)stream of undifferentiated look-alikes, Kerbaj’s illustration easily breaks the code and creates a singular and memorable image of life in the city.
