Beirut Gets Back its Museum

Our rebranding for the new and improved Sursock Museum

The trilingual system of the new Sursock mark maintains the Arabic and switches between English and French.

With new programming, state-of-the-art facilities and an impressive architectural extension by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Jaques Aboukhaled, Sursock Museum, which has lately been closed for renovation, has acquired a new identity. The museum’s new face will be fully unveiled with the grand opening of its new spaces sometime this year.

The new trilingual mark, which operates in two languages at a time, retains the original emblem – an architectural feature from the iconic staircase of this old-Lebanese-mansion-turned-museum. It is injected  with a contemporary typographic aesthetic and a custom-drawn Arabic calligraphy, designed in collaboration with Samir Sayegh, to reflect the upcoming position of the establishment.

We look forward to the reopening of this redefined Beirut monument with great anticipation.
